Services For The Public And Industry
Since the foundation of the wfk institute has very readily participated in the activities of general interest for the industry. Remarkable means were invested in the development of metrologies which nowadays are the basis for the success of the R + D efforts of the industry. They are also used for performance testing of detergents, cleaning processes, and appliances.
The institute represents the interests of the affiliated industries independent of single companies and branches in standardisation. Because of their importance in European and worldwide harmonisation of technical standards the participation in ISO-, IEC-, CEN- and CENELEC-work is growing.
The impact of appropriate international standards on the competitiveness of the national economy is very often underestimated as can be seen from the low activities of most industrial groups. In future CEN standards will significantly influence the chances of the individual companies.
